Random Recipes Cookbook Project
For this project, the assignment was to create a cover page, two food recipes of choosing, a dedication page, an autograph page, and level 1 had to create an extra page. The class had to take a group photo too. I chose carrot cake as my first recipe. I hand drew a piece of a carrot cake and the carrot cake title. I also went on Photoshop to personalize the carrot cake I got from Google. On Google I found directions to make a carrot cake and the ingredients needed to make it. It was a requirement to add a fun fact too. As for the lemon bars I found the recipe on how to make lemon bars, and added in the ingredients and the fun fact. On Photoshop I again personalized the lemon bar images. I used an interesting style font to capture the viewers attention. Finally, level 1 students were asked to make an extra page whether it be the table-o-contents, the index, the glossary, or the helpful tips page. I did the helpful tips page and I searched "kitchen safety tips". The image I got was modified on Photoshop and was personalized.
Shirt Transfer
We did a shirt transfer for this project. We created a design of our choice to put on the shirt. I found an image of a crown and then I transferred sparkles onto it. I then flipped the image over and we printed it out and then we transferred it onto the t-shirt.
Tie Dye Shirt
The last and final project of this year was the tie dye t-shirt. This was the most fun in my opinion. We were asked to bring in a t-shirt that was 100% cotton and we soaked it into water. After we rang it out, we marked where the spiral would start on the shirt with an expo marker. It was then when we started twisting the shirt to form a spiral. When the shirt was completely twisted, we put rubber bands diagonally across from each other. The final step before another whole process was to of course squirt what colors you liked to go on the shirt and for each color, you had to put the same color on the opposite side and on the back side. The last process after the shirt somewhat dried was to soak the shirt in cold water with vinegar for a half hour. Then you just dried the shirt and there you had one nice tie dye t-shirt.
